The Necklust and the Chocolatier exhibit at the Florida Craftsman Gallery is comprised of a totally different breed of candy necklace. Unlike the edible versions popular with kids, these pieces were inspired by chocolate but made with almost every non-food material under the sun. Unfortunately, most of the necklaces were a bit out of my price range (think in the thousands of dollars range), but it’s free to check them out and if you stop by on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2:00-4:00pm, you can try the pieces on! The exhibit is showing through May 10.
It’s kind of hard to see, but the plastic bubbles on the bottom of the case are actually necklaces, too!
These necklaces were some of my favorites.
And lastly, these diamonds and chain necklaces are a couple that I actually contemplating buying (they were also the least expensive, at $180-$280). They were created by artist Uli Rapp, using tricot textiles, rubber, and screenprinting. The super long necklace to the right was done by Marjorie Schick.
