Clémence Poesy for Black Book Magazine

Clémence Poesy is one of my favorite people of the moment.  Anyone who is connected to Harry Potter automatically earns a free pass from me (see also: Robert Pattison), but she was wonderful in In Bruges as well.  In addition to her films, I’m always a fan of the magazine spreads she’s featured in.  For the December ’08 edition of Black Book magazine, Clémence dons couture items from Chanel, Valentino, Gaultier, and Christian Lacroix.

Clemence Poesy for Vogue Italia, October 2008

To continue the French theme of our posts lately, below are scans from the latest issue of Vogue Italia featuring Chloe campaigner Clemence Poesy.  Shot by Max Vadukul, Poesy is definitely bringing the cute in this editorial.  I especially like the styling and hair/makeup — the dark lipstick is getting me really excited for fall!

There’s No Place Like Fashion Week

Beginning September 4th — just in time for Fashion Week! –  Saks Fifth Avenue will be displaying reinvented versions of Dorothy’s ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz in celebration of the film’s 70th anniversary.  The shoes have been created by a variety of ready-to-wear and accessory designers, including Betsey Johnson, Diane von Furstenberg, and Jimmy Choo.  One of the sponsors for the event is Swarovski Crystals, which is why many of the heels are bedazzled beyond belief.  After the showing at Saks and Bryant Park, these red slippers are going on a countrywide tour (including a stop at Art Basel in Miami) before being auctioned off to support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.  Below are just a few of the pairs I like the most — click here to view more.  I think Dorothy would definitely be jealous.

Audrey Tautou Pt. 2

Here’s the first official poster for the new Coco Chanel movie, “Coco: Before Chanel,” starring Audrey Tautou as Coco.  The film, directed by Anne Fontaine, is slated to be released sometime in 2009.  I had heard rumors of Kiera Knightly replacing Audrey in the lead role, so I was relieved to see that Ms. Tatou is featured in the poster.  According to Slash Film, the film will be a “story of the path taken by Coco from her obscure beginnings to the blinding lights of Paris.”  I’m looking forward this movie’s release, if only to see how the wardrobe will turn out!
